What is a Chapter?
The Chapter takes place every 5 years, it gathers sisters from all the countries where we are present today: 27 countries and 4 continents. The gathering of the Chapter represents, the highest authority in the Congregation. 57 sisters constitute the Chapter Assembly: Some are members by right: the general council, the general bursar, the superiors of provinces, regions and delegation. The other sisters are members elected in different local realities.
20 guests will also participate in the Chapter Assembly, for a limited time: 7 sisters among theyoungest ofEurope, 3 juniors (sisters who have not yet pronounced the perpetual vows) and 10 lay people, friends of Jeanne-Antide.

Monday 28th June The message of sr Nunzia, general Superior, announces the end of the Chapter and the beginning of a new stage.
Sunday 27thJune Re-reading of the texts. The Assembly listens to the news of Central Africa, Vietnam and Laos. Information about the bicentenary of the arrival of St Jeanne Antide at Naples.
Saturday 26th June Feast of Blessed Nemesia Valle. The Assembly listens to the news of Sudan Darfur, Pakistan and Ethiopia.
24th June On the day of the feast of St. John the Baptist, the Chapter Assembly thanks the Lord for having given to Mother Nunzia De Gori, the sisters who form her Council: Sr Monica BINDA (Argentina), sr Christine WALCZAK (France), Sr Mary STEPHANOS (Egypt), sr Silvia DATTRINO (Italy)
22th June Today the new General Superior of the Congregation has been elected:

20th June afternoon. Prayer to the Spirit … Beginning of the time of discernment in view of the elections. Time of adoration.
19th June afternoon – 20th June morning: Break
18th June: the time of attendance to the Chapter for the 10 sisters who had been invited as guests comes to an end.
17th June: The diocese of Rome encourages a weekly lectio divina in the parishes. A « new evangelization is needed to offer to baptized and non-baptized the possibility of rediscovering the beauty of being disciples of the Lord », there is need for means of « formation » and of « occasions » to kindle faith starting from the Word of God.
16th June: Benedict XVI recommends that football may be a school of « solidarity » and « fraternity ».
14th June 5 priests from Vietnam visit the general house, among them the priest who helped our sisters at the beginning of their mission and the parish priest of Cua Lo, not far from Vinh.
13th June Our 10 lay friends leave us … they are happy of this experience, sometimes not easy but rich… they have suggestions for the Movement…
10-13 June Chapter: enlightening stage with the Samaritan woman and with Jesus at Cana … What renewal, at personal level or together … interior, relational, apostolic … What conditions? What possible decisions?
10th June 10.000 priests from 91 countries gathered in St. Peter’s Square with thousands faithful, on the occasion of the closing of the Year for priests … they manifested and proclaimed “the joy of their common vocation and their availability to serve the Lord and their brothers and sisters in the actual world”. At Cyprus the Pope gave the Middle East Bishops the basic document for the Synod which will take place in October at the Vatican City … “The disappearing of Christians would be a loss for the plurality which has always characterized the Countries of middle East”.
9th June In a declaration signed at N’Djamena in Chad, six African countries – Cameroun, Central Africa, Niger, Nigeria, Sudan and Chad – committed themselves so that “no child with less than 18 years of age, take part in hostilities and be recruited, be it directly or indirectly”.

Wednesday 9th June: day of reflection with Marco Guzzi, poet, philosopher and professor ... The spiritual turning point of our time ... a great historical moment to start anew ... to form ourselves to a continuous transformation.
Tuesday 8th June: day of reciprocal acquaintance ... Lay people and sisters introduce themselves... Gabriele, member of the coordination committee of the group of the Friends of Jeanne Antide, presents the development of the lay movement ... afterward the assembly deepens the Basic Document of the lay people.
Monday 7th June: at 6.30 PM, Chapter sisters and the guests-lay people sing together the glory of God. After the welcoming message of Mother Maria Luisa they greet each other cordially.
JUNE 5th
Re-reading of the last five years. It started yesterday with the reading of the”basis document”, a synthesis of the communities’reflection. This stage will be followed by the presentationof the General Relation and the economical relation.
JUNE 4th 8h30: Opening of the chapter with the Eucharist in the crape of the General House in ROME. 10h: Mother MARIA LUISA declares the 19th Chapter of the Congregation open. 16h: The co-ordinating committee (CC) , in charge of the guidance of the chapter , is created(election of The members.
The Chapter assembly meets in an entirely restructured room, which can contain as many as 97 people.
In Indonesia, on this same day, 5 young girls join the Congregation.
1st – 2nd – 3rd June (morning)
the Chapter will begin in Naples, at the house «Regina Coeli»…where saint Jeanne-Antide arrived, on the 18th November 1810. In this year of the 2nd centenary of this event, will have the joy of living, in this place so dear to our hearts, a strong spiritual experience, at the charismatic and community level … like Jeanne-Antide and with her in the small streets of the old Naples, on the terrace facing the city and the Vesuvius, in the Church where she prayed … in the room from where she went back to the Father’s House … Prayer, Sharing of the Word, time of fraternity … in communion with all the communities of the world.
