During the mass of Palm Sunday, on 21st March, Pope Francis voices again his concern in front of the indifference « of many » towards the refugees. In an ad hoc passage pronounced slowly and seriously, Pope Francis points out that Jesus suffered from indifference during his Passion: « While being deprived totally from justice, Jesus experiences also indifference, because nobody wants to assume the responsibility of his destiny. »
It’s the same indifference, denounces the pope, which many refugees experience today and « many » refuse to « assume the responsibility » of this reality. « And I think of many people, of the numerous marginalised , displaced persons and of the many refugees where nobody accepts to assume the responsibility regarding their destiny. »
On this same day, Sr. Therese, who is in Sudan, sent us some photos of the celebration of Palm Sunday, in a refugees’ camp near Khartoum, the capital of Sudan.
« We hear the voice of our neighbour who is present across the world ».
