A welcoming and enjoyable experience of service: it’s the Big Vigil with the guests of the Caritas Hostel. It has been animated by the young people who had lived the experience of “Capodanno Alternativo”. These youths hail from Italy, Malta and France.
The initiative is a way of living a New Year’s Day in a truly alternative way. They offered their festive time to serve and to animate during the big meal of the Caritas Soup Kitchen. Following the invitation launched by Pope Francis to make bridges and not build walls. This becomes an occasion to enjoy ones and to greet the New Year in good company while choosing concrete solidarity.
There was Tombola with some rewards, songs, and group dancing... The evening had been prepared across moments of mutual acquaintance and formation in view of forming a group, but also in view of understanding the motivations, the desires and the expectations in welcoming this suggestion, which meant to bring forth joy, encounter, sharing and cheerfulness.
