Feast of Sr Nemesia at the General House
At the invitation of Sr. Nunzia de Gori, Superior General, on Monday 26 June, the Feast of Blessed Nemesia, Father Tomaž Mavrič, Superior General of the Fathers of the Mission (The Lazarists) came to concelebrate the Eucharist with three of his brothers, in our chapel of the General House.
Here are some points of his homily:
"Sr Nemesia is a simple person, open to others.
Three essential aspects emerge from her life:
- The gift of simplicity
- The Gift of Collaboration
- The gift of holiness
These gifts are a Vincentian characteristic, they are part of the Vincentian charism and spirituality.
We are also called to deepen these gifts, in our lives, in our Congregation, in the Vincentian Family, in the Church and in the world.
Holiness is offered to all ... To deepen the life of a saint is to deepen life according to the Gospel ... and we have so many examples of the Vincentian Family.
The Vincentian family is living a very special year that calls us to know the other branches of this family to collaborate more and more together ...
In October, the Symposium of the Vincentian Family will take place in Rome to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the charism. We are all invited to participate ...
May Blessed Nemesia accompany us all in this Jubilee year and intercede for us. "
Yes, Blessed Sister Nemesia, through her educational service, succeeded in realizing, for her time, an inventive charity and a firm tenderness for the youth and the poor.
