On Wednesday 2nd August, Sr Nunzia, the superior general met the group of junior sisters who are preparing for the final profession. They have lived an intensive international meeting since 10th July. On that day they reflected on their vocation and mission. “It all started on a day at the end of July 1787”. Infact it is 230 years since Jeanne Antide left her family and her village to respond to the call of her vocation and, during that July night, she walked through the door of her house to join the Daughters of Charity in Langres. Her Yes to Christ made her a missionary… Simple and deep sharing, questions were at the centre of this meeting.
They all gathered in the kitchen of the house of Jeanne Antide for a prayer vigil, during which every junior sister was called by name, and as Jeanne Antide has done, on that July night of so many years ago, each sister walked through that same door. A meaningful gesture that expresses their readiness to answer the call and to go on mission at the service of the poor.
