On the 21st July, the sisters of Charity had the joy of publishing a new book entitled « I would cross the seas, Memories » which recounts the steps of the sisters who have lived in Egypt.
Numerous attestations have been collected by Sr. Paule Germaine Corbani who narrates the history of the mission between 1909 and 2017 … a treasure of the past offered to the future.
This book targets to “protect the purity of memory and to set up an example for the future generations … while suggesting a life witness to the sisters who will adopt the history of the Egyptian people”.
Three main words are to be retained from these pages : the service of the poor, the joyful witnessing and the mission ! These words are written with simplicity and authenticity, while the style transmits joy in spite of all the difficulties encountered … It’s the joy and conviction in the Word of God who precedes the steps of every missionary!
This is the second book written by Sr. Paule Germaine Corbani who narrates the richness of the mission lived by the sisters of Charity in the Middle East Province. The first one recalled the arrival of the sisters in Soudan and their mission.
