The new icon for the 2026 Bicentenary
During the prayer in memory of Mother Thouret’s birth into Heaven, celebrated in Naples, Regina Coeli, on 24 August 2025, the new icon of the Foundress was placed in front of the urn containing her holy remains.
‘The icon with its colours,’ says an Eastern Council, ‘proclaims the Gospel to us and makes it present to us.’
God Alone! Dearest Sisters who are living the mission in the various geographical realities,
dearest lay Friends of St. Jeanne Antide, all you laity, our co-workers, all you young people with whom we journey,
It is with great joy that I reach out to each one of you to communicate the opening of the Bicentenary year of the birth in Heaven of St. Jeanne Antide Thouret which will start on 24 August 2025 and concludes on 24 August 2026.
May this year be a time in which we all together, sisters and laity, feel committed to remember, deepen and acquaint the witness of faith of St. Jeanne Antide Thouret, as Pope Pius XI defined her: “An untiring servant of Charity”.
