Approximately 4,000 consecrated men and women from around the world concluded their Jubilee in the Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls.

Together they renewed their profession of faith through the Creed proclaimed by the five continents with symbolic signs and reaffirmed their ‘yes’ to consecration as ‘pilgrims of hope on the path of peace.’

The Sister of Charity of the General House led the singing at the Vigil, accompanied on the organ by Maestro Andrea C. and guitarist Sergio I.

Sr. Simona Brambilla, Prefect of the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, pointed to Mary as a model of consecrated life:

“A consecrated life in the sign of Mary becomes a space for a profound re-reading of history, a prophetic gaze on reality embodied by “women and men of the Beatitudes who, even in tribulation, already see the invisible”. It becomes a place of dialogue and encounter, a bridge over which different experiences and wisdom can pass, meet, and exchange gifts; it becomes a safe and respectful environment in which relationships of true reciprocity can be born and grow.”

In the final message, the consecrated persons committed themselves to being a presence of listening and care in the most difficult places in the world, promising to continue to build peace starting with the poorest and most invisible.

With their hope strengthened and their instruments of peace refined, the participants leave Rome, ready to bring this ‘fruitful harmony in diversity’ to the streets of the world. Sr. Simona Brambilla exhorted them: “So, let us go, brothers and sisters! Let us go, pilgrims of hope on the path of peace, carrying with us the experience we have lived, to keep it in our hearts and share it with those we meet!”
