The constellation of hope
The entire week from 27 October to 2 November was dedicated to schools and universities. All the components were present – students, parents, teachers, managers, administrative and auxiliary staff – a veritable constellation of hope, to guide and illuminate the educational path of the new generations.
It was a unique opportunity, at an international level, to reflect and share on the importance of education as a fundamental tool for human growth, which arises from the awareness of a common belonging and the vision of a shared destiny.
Key issues for the future of education were explored through conferences, debates, cultural and spiritual meetings, involving experts, educators and students.
It was an intense experience of listening, dialogue and renewal.

The delegation from the Maltese schools of the Sisters of Charity who participated in the Jubilee share their experience here.
Antonella Vancelli:
“Our journey to Rome for the Educators’ Jubilee of Hope was a truly grace-filled experience, one that touched our hearts deeply and renewed our sense of purpose as Christian educators. From the moment we arrived, we were embraced by the warm hospitality of the Sisters of Charity, who welcomed us so generously into their beautiful home. The peace and serenity that surrounded us reflected the true spirit of charity and made us feel immediately at home.
We are especially grateful to Sr. Melissa, whose energetic spirit, dedication, and joyful presence made this experience possible. Her enthusiasm and tireless efforts brought everyone together and made each moment memorable. The fun-loving nature, warmth, and friendship of the other participants added so much joy to our time together. The laughter we shared created a sense of unity and light-heartedness that beautifully complemented the reflective nature of the event. The highlight of our time in Rome was the celebration with the Pope, an experience we will never forget.
eing in his presence and witnessing his message of hope and encouragement left a lasting impression on each of us. We also enjoyed seeing some of the city’s most remarkable landmarks, whose charm, culture, and vibrancy offered many moments of enjoyment.
As we look back on our time in Rome, our hearts are filled with gratitude, for the Sisters who opened their doors to us, for Sr. Melissa’s energetic leadership, and for the fellowship and joy we shared with one another. This journey reminded us that hope flourishes wherever faith, friendship, and love are present, and that in the true spirit of charity, we find renewal, inspiration, and strength for the mission entrusted to us as educators.”.
Marylou Cassar:
“It was an unforgettable experience. On the 1st of November, we attended Holy Mass in celebration of All Saints’ Day. During this solemn celebration, His Holiness Pope Leone XIV proclaimed Saint John Henry Newman a Doctor of the Church.
Saint John Henry Newman, one of the 19th century’s most important English-speaking Catholic theologians, spent the first half of his life as an Anglican and the second half as a Roman Catholic. He was a priest, a popular preacher, a writer, and an eminent theologian in both traditions.
I felt so happy and at peace when I received Holy Communion at the Vatican.
During our stay at the Mother House of the Sisters of Charity, we also had the opportunity to venerate the relic of Saint Jeanne-Antide Thouret, which had been brought from Naples. It was a profound experience of faith and compassion. Being able to pray and reflect in the presence of her relic was a rare privilege, and I consider myself truly blessed to have shared in such spiritual richness during this visit.
As staff, we also had the chance to get to know one another better, spending quality time together and finding moments to pray as a group.
This pilgrimage was a meaningful and deeply spiritual experience, one that I will cherish for the rest of my life”.
La signora Jennifer:
“A truly blessed weekend in Rome spent at the Mother House of the Sisters of Charity.
Surrounded by faith and love, we took time to reflect deeply on the life, mission, and enduring legacy of our foundress, St. Jeanne Antide Thouret.
Her spirit continues to shine through every Sister of Charity who faithfully walks in her footsteps.
It was a grace-filled experience that I will cherish forever, a beautiful reminder of the transforming power of service, compassion, and unwavering faith in God”.
