Every year, one month and one day after the spring equinox, Earth Day is celebrated around the world.
The aim of the celebration is to involve as many communities as possible
“During the week of 2026 in Rubik, Albania, from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm, with four volunteers, we cleaned a canal located at the start of the Rreshen motorway, 15 minutes from Rubik.
We then drew, coloured and mounted 12 awareness-raising panels on poles to be placed in this location, and a further three were positioned a little further away.Sr Marlyse Rubik April 2026

Taking care of the public good makes us feel like a community; it encourages people to feel part of a community. Individual and perhaps isolated initiatives are part of a broader movement of material and moral reconstruction
Material common goods – water, air, landscape, urban spaces, territory – but also intangible ones – the rule of law, health, knowledge, language, collective memory – do not belong to the state and are not private; they belong to everyone. And so that both we and future generations can continue to enjoy them, someone must continually look after them.
