The Bicentenary was inaugurated by the AJA in Jussara during the Day of Gratitude celebrated by the Friends of Saint Jeanne Antide. Carol, on behalf of the Group, sent us a message of gratitude and commitment and a short video:

‘Having the courage that Jeanne Antide had in such difficult times is revolutionary and gives me the strength to continue living my God Alone every day and everywhere’.

‘God Alone!

Dear Sisters of Charity and dear friends of Saint Giovanna Antida,

On 31 August 2025, we celebrated our “Day of Gratitude”, dedicated to thanking God for the charism of Saint Jeanne Antide, a charism that we recognise as our own, and a day to be grateful for our journey to date.

The liturgy of this day revealed to us how everything that Saint Jeanne Antide lived pleased the heart of God: simplicity and gratuitousness, dedicated to those most in need, give us an example to follow, being a source of love and hope for those who need it, practising patience, humility and charity with our brothers and sisters.

Care for our Common Home

In a moment of reflection, we talked about how we will do our part to live the ‘COMMON HOME’ and we also discussed strategies for an integral ecology within our homes, our group and our community.

Bicentenary 2026

The Bicentenary, inaugurated on 24 August 2025, was presented with great affection and emotion, inspiring us to desire even more to live the charism of our Friend, Saint Jeanne Antide.

Personally, I often say that in the 27 years since I met the Sisters of Charity and in these 8 years as an AJA Friend, the more I read her story and get to know her, the more I feel the desire to be better. Jeanne Antide awakens in me an insatiable desire to help those in need, to go where I am needed, to be a real and visible presence of God.

Having the courage that Jeanne Antide had in such difficult times is revolutionary and gives me the strength to continue living my God Alone every day and everywhere.

I ask God and the Virgin Mary to continue to keep the flame of love and charity burning in my heart!

With affection, Carol de Paula, Friend of Saint Jeanne Antide,
