Besançon, after a magnificent vigil at the cathedral where 21 catechumens were baptised, after welcoming Easter dawn in an ecumenical celebration, after a solemn Mass, the Lord gathered us together to sing to him, to praise him and also to share in our fellowship.
Yes, on this day of the Lord’s Resurrection, 34 of us sisters from Sancey, Les Fontenelles and L’Escale gathered at the community on 2 Rue des Martelots, Besançon, for a sisterly get-together; two neighbours had also joined us. Quite simply, sitting round the table for the festive meal, we chatted about this and that.
The joy of being together again is a delight, so necessary to revitalise our commitment and each one’s mission!

The fellowship continued with small groups playing games, going for walks…
This is the Lord’s work. We give thanks to God for this beautiful day. May the light of our risen Lord Jesus Christ shine upon us and, through us, upon those we meet; may He accompany us in our daily lives. May the Peace of Christ reign on this earth.Just as Mary Magdalene, who hurried to announce the Resurrection, so too do we set out to proclaim this Good News:
“Do not be afraid! Go and proclaim” To proclaim Easter is to affirm that Christ himself is the Good News to be witnessed to the world: the Lord’s Easter is our Easter, the Easter of humanity, for this man, who died for us, is the Son of God, who gave his life for us.
Just as the Risen One, ever-living and ever-present, frees the past from a destructive end, so too does the Easter proclamation redeem our future from the tomb”.
Pope Leo XIV.“Christ is risen. He is truly risen, Alleluia”.
