Eco-Charity Garden – Cardinal Mathieu celebrated the Mass of Creationtit

The community at the Generalate experienced a significant event. On 17 May, Cardinal Dominique Joseph Mathieu was a guest; he presided over the Eucharistic celebration and had lunch with the community.

Mother Maria Rosa Muscarella awaited him with the sister councillors under a shy sun. After the greetings, all the faithful gathered in the beautiful Garden of Peace to celebrate the Mass of Creation, a moment of prayer, reflection and communion dedicated to the care of our Common Home and the promotion of a culture of responsibility towards creation.

The Mass was presided over by Cardinal Mathieu. His Eminence was flanked by Father Joshtrom, Father Jerry, Father Mario and Father Benoit.

The presence of Cardinal Dominique Joseph gave the celebration a particularly profound significance. A Belgian Franciscan friar, deeply committed to interreligious dialogue and the promotion of peace, Cardinal Mathieu represents an authoritative voice within the Church dedicated to building bridges between cultures, peoples and religions.

His pastoral mission in Iran bears concrete witness to a spirituality founded on encounter, fraternity and the care of creation, values fully in tune with the message of integral ecology promoted by the Church.

The celebration took place in an atmosphere of profound spirituality and fraternity, accompanied by the awareness that today, more than ever, the care of creation represents a concrete responsibility for every Christian community.

After Mass, Sr Maria Luisa Caruso and Sr Mirna Farah accompanied him on a tour of the park to discover the ecological mission of the Eco-Charity Garden.

At lunch, the whole community enjoyed a meaningful time of fellowship and sharing. The Cardinal’s simplicity and humility provide strong support for building bridges of prayer and communion between the Church of Silence and the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity.
