Franche-Comté – Cycling pilgrimage in the land of Jeanne-Antide

What a blessing to spend a week with young people! It was a pilgrimage that filled our hearts with joy and gratitude!

There were two of us sisters: Sister Nam and I, Sister Ngan, invited to participate in the mountain bike pilgrimage that started in Sancey, the birthplace of our foundress, Saint Jeanne Antide Thouret.

Every day, Sister Nam cycled enthusiastically, sustained by the power of prayer, the beauty of creation and the enthusiasm of the young people.

But this pilgrimage was not just a sporting challenge: above all, it was a journey of faith, an experience of fraternity and communion.

For my part, I had the task of supporting the organisation: setting up and taking down the tents, preparing the vigils. These simple moments, made up of shared services and smiles, were as many places where God’s presence was revealed.

Each day was marked by prayer, the Eucharist and songs, which nourished our steps as much as our hearts.

The fervour of the young people, their spontaneous joy and their generosity in their efforts were for us a true testimony of living faith.

This pilgrimage was a school of simplicity and hope: living together with little, supporting each other in our efforts, admiring the beauty of the landscapes of Giovanna Antida’s land and, above all, recognising Christ present among us.

When it was time to leave, our hearts were full of gratitude.
Yes, the Holy Spirit is at work in the hearts of young people: he awakens in them the desire to walk with Christ and to proclaim his joy. This pilgrimage was an experience of a beautiful and living Church, where fraternity became a journey towards God.
