Homily at Holy Mass on the feast of Saint Augustine Pietrantoni presided over by the Bishop of Tivoli and Palestrina, Mauro Parmeggiani – Pozzaglia Sabina, Sunday, September 13, 2020.

On the occasion of the feast of Saint Augustine celebrated in her native village, on the second Sunday of September, we read the homily of the Bishop of Tivoli and Palestrina, Mauro Parmeggiani, who dedicated this mass to the doctors and to all health care workers. Focusing his homily on these words of Jesus: “There is no greater love than this: to give one’s life for one’s friends,” he thanked all those who”offered and continue to offer their generous service in our hospitals, in the nursing homes close to our dear sick people; thanks also to those who voluntarily give some of their time to take of the weak and refrain from closing themselves up in that selfishness which tends to exclude the elderly and the suffering.”
