India – A place of love: Unity Home

A day of prayer at Unity home,  an integrated home located in India, district of Tamilnadu in Nadaikavu that cares for elderly and children. It provides a safe and loving environment for 20 elderly and 6 children who need care and support.

Unity home is more than just a shelter it is a place where marginalized and vulnerable can come and receive a safe and supportive environment with proper care, nutritious meals and good shelter. At the same time, the children are provided with education, guidance and nurturing atmosphere to grow and build their future. The elderly and children share their love together as a family. The elderly share their stories, values and love, while the children bring energy and joy into the home.

In today’s fast changing society, many elderly are left without proper care as the younger generation often moves away to take responsibility for them. So many elderly are forced to live in the street. At the same time, many children grow up without support of their parents due to broken family and difficult social background. These children lack a safe environment to grow. Recognizing this home seek to respond by providing a loving space where all can live together with love and care.

Supported by caring sisters, generous benefactors and dedicated staff, Unity Home works every day to ensure dignity and respect for everyone. Together we are building a family where no one feels alone and every one belongs

DURING THE LENTEN SEASON

Unity Home observe a special day of prayer and way of cross. On this day in unity home children, staff and sisters gather together for a time of spiritual renewal. Children were active to conduct the way of cross around our compound same time the elderly those who were able to walk participated very piously.

This meaningful gathering brings comfort to the elderly and helps the children to understand the values of compassion, sacrifice, and hope.

It is the moment where the entire home comes together as one family in prayer during this sacred season.
