In Lipomo, in her native parish in the province of Como, Sister Francesca Evangelisti, on 26 October 2025, gave herself forever to God, to the Church, to the poor, among the Sisters of Charity of Mother Thouret.

Presiding over the Eucharistic celebration was Father Claudio Lurati, Comboni missionary, Apostolic Vicar in Alexandria, Egypt, also a native of Lipomo.

During the prayer vigil on Saturday evening and the Mass of Perpetual Consecration, her family and relatives, the Provincial Superior Sister Sabrina, numerous young people and adults from the parish of San Vito, priest friends, the communities where Sister Francesca has lived in recent years, her new destination – the University Residence in Urbino – and several Sisters of Charity from all over Italy.

The liturgy of perpetual profession is very rich: before the consecration, Sister Francesca prostrated herself on the ground, “declaring” her total availability and preparing to receive the grace of the Holy Spirit in humility, deep respect and adoration of “He who was, who is, who is to come”: Jesus, the Lord of history. The entire assembly sang the Litany of the Saints, asking for their intercession.

At the end of the Perpetual Profession of chastity, poverty, obedience, and service to the poor, forever, the Provincial Superior, Sister Sabrina, embraced Sister Francesca, on behalf of all her sisters, with whom ‘from this moment on, everything will be shared’: joys, sorrows, health and sickness, with the grace of Christ and the support of the religious community.

After the solemn Holy Mass, there was a joyful moment of good wishes from all those who wanted to share this moment of God’s grace, of Sister Francesca’s free and joyful gift of herself.
