Malta – A Weekend of Discernment, young People Seek God’s Voice

Between the 27th February and 1st March, a group of young people stepped away from the rhythm of daily life and entered into an experience designed to be anything but ordinary.

Gathered together with various vocation promoters, they embarked on a journey of prayer, listening, and fraternity, creating the space needed to open their hearts to the gentle, personal voice of the Lord.
Through shared moments of reflection, meaningful encounters, and simple community living, the participants were reminded that God’s call is never generic. It is always unique, always personal, and always addressed directly to each one of us. Sometimes, the greatest step toward discovering God’s will is not an action, but a pause, making room to listen.

This special weekend brought together young men and women aged 18 to 30 for a discernment live-in organised by the Vocations Promoters Equipe of the Archdiocese of Malta. Alongside priests, religious sisters, members of various congregations, and a married couple, they spent time in prayer, conversation, silence, and fraternal life. At the heart of it all was one profound and honest question: “Lord, what do you want from my life?”

The gathering marked a significant moment for our Church. For the first time, different congregations, priests, and religious collaborated to offer a unified experience of discernment for young people, a sign of communion, shared mission, and hope for the future.

As the participants continue their personal journeys, we hold them in prayer.

May they remain open, courageous, and attentive to God’s whisper in their hearts as they seek the path, He is inviting them to walk.

“Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.” (1 Samuel 3:9)
