As we commemorate this year, the bicentenary of the death of our foundress, as a Gudja community, we opened our doors and our hearts by inviting lay people to join us for the monthly prayer of the congregation.

We felt it was a beautiful opportunity to share this special time of grace and to walk side by side in remembering and celebrating the life and charism of St Jeanne Antide Thouret.

Yesterday we celebrated the first of these moments of prayer. It was a warm and reflective gathering, marked by silence, listening, and shared faith. Through the reflection, we were invited to contemplate the courage of St Jeanne Antide during her time in Naples — a courage rooted in deep trust in God and expressed through perseverance, creativity, and love for the poor.

At the end of the prayer, we shared how we experience St Jeanne Antide in our own lives today. These simple yet profound sharings revealed how her spirit continues to live among us: in moments of courage, in fidelity to our calling, and in small daily acts of charity.

We are grateful for this first step taken together and for the presence of those who joined us. It reminded us that the charism entrusted to St Jeanne Antide is not only remembered, but lived — together — in our communities today.
