In the spirit of faith, community and discovery: this year marks the third time that the St Jeanne Antide College in Malta has offered Year 8 students the special experience of a pilgrimage to Rome.
The trip continues to be a meaningful opportunity for our pupils to deepen their faith, strengthen friendships and encounter history, culture and spirituality in one of the world’s most significant religious centres.

Celebrating Faith at the Heart of the Universal Church
The pilgrimage holds special importance as it celebrates our pupils who recently received the Sacrament of Holy Confirmation.
Through this journey, we aim to give students a deeper understanding of what it means to belong to the universal Catholic Church.
On Sunday, pupils and staff visited Vatican City, where we gathered in St. Peter’s Square to participate in the Angelus prayer with the Pope.
This was a truly memorable and moving experience for everyone involved.
Making the occasion even more special, our school group was personally mentioned by the Pope at the conclusion of the Angelus, creating a moment that pupils and staff will treasure for years to come.
Visiting the Sisters of Charity Mother House
On Monday, the group visited the Sisters of Charity Mother House. This visit offered a particularly meaningful opportunity, as it welcomed our students and staff to the very place where the story and mission of the Sisters of Charity began.
Students had the chance to explore the beautiful gardens and reflect on the history and values of the congregation.
The visit was especially significant during this Bicentenary Year, allowing pupils to appreciate the heritage, service and dedication that continue to inspire the work of the Sisters of Charity today.

Discovering the Beauty and History of Rome Together
Alongside these deeply spiritual experiences, the trip also provided pupils with the opportunity to explore the main historical and cultural landmarks of Rome.
From visiting iconic sites to enjoying shared meals and free time together, the journey allowed students to build stronger friendships and create lasting memories.
The experience encouraged pupils to grow not only in their faith, but also in independence, appreciation of history and cultural understanding.

A Trip to Remember
The Year 8 Rome pilgrimage continues to be a highlight of our school calendar.
It is a unique opportunity for pupils to celebrate an important milestone in their faith journey while experiencing the rich traditions of the Catholic Church and the remarkable heritage of Rome.
We look forward to continuing this special tradition in the years to come, offering future students the same unforgettable experience of faith, fellowship and discovery.
