First weekend of the new cycle of meetings of the youth ministry of the Sisters of Charity in the Milan area: Milan, 22-23 November 2025.
What attracts young people is the service at San Vittore prison, but it is the fraternal life and the opportunities for meditation that make our young people feel “at home”, as they like to emphasise when sharing their experiences at the end.
A powerful time to reconnect with oneself, taking a break from the hectic lives we all lead and opening up to others, in a location far from the eyes but not from the heart (ours), which never ceases to challenge our “free” lives.
A few small unexpected events allowed us to experience the Providence of the Lord and the certain presence of Sister Enrichetta, who never ceases to be the angel and mother of San Vittore… and of the sisters and young people who continue the service so dear to her!
Divided into two groups, one in the clinical ward and the other in the women’s ward, the young people and sisters proposed creative ways to allow the prisoners to let themselves be loved by the Word of God (Lk 3:1-22): the proclamation of John the Baptist and the baptism of Jesus, the beloved Son.
And here is the Good News to be proclaimed from the rooftops (and beyond the bars): with Christ, we are sons and daughters loved by the Father, and His words of love hold our fragile pieces together, weaving our lives with golden threads!
