Latin American Province – Zonal Meeting in Argentina

As part of our provincial programme, we organised zonal meetings to deepen our community relationships and our call to be fraternal communities. The first was held in Argentina from 11 to 13 July and the second in Paraguay from 17 to 19 July 2025.

Both meetings began with the words of our provincial superior, Sister Marta, who encouraged us to live together during these days the proposal of our provincial planning on community life, which says: ”

May our communities, transformed by the Word of God, be places of humanisation, discernment, good treatment and joy.’ ‘We want to live a fraternity centred on care and good treatment, making ourselves aware that God calls us to live together. Each and every one of us has been called to be part of this family and to form together the Provincial Community.’

Zonal meeting in Argentina

We were delighted to meet up with the sisters from the communities in Argentina and some sisters from Bolivia and Brazil for our zonal meeting, which we began with great enthusiasm and a desire to get things done.

We were accompanied by Sister Lidia, sister of El Huerto, who from the beginning encouraged us to glimpse horizons of life amid wounds, fears and fragmented realities. We all desire to be loved and to feel loved, and many of our complexes and difficulties in relationships stem from this lack of love.

How important it is to heal our emotional memory! Sister encouraged us to recognise the positive signs, the signs of growth in our communities, to be grateful and positive women: this is “the best medicine” to heal our wounds and encourage others to lift their gaze and help them not to lose hope.

These were “sacred” days to go deeper and rediscover our sister’s gaze, to thank her for her presence and to say together: “Courage! Let’s go forward!”

And to invite ourselves and others to say: Let’s make a pact of good manners”
