February 2
During the opening Mass of the Provincial Chapter Assembly of the Province of Latin America, the renewal of temporary vows was celebrated for three young sisters of the Province: Sister María Belén, Sister Rina and Sister Yobana.
The Mass was celebrated on 2 February 2026, at 7:00 p.m., the day on which the Presentation of the Child Jesus in the Temple is commemorated, in the presence of the Auxiliary Bishop of La Plata, Jorge González, and the parish priest Cristian Gonzalvez, as well as all the sisters of the Province present and some members of the Christian community.

With the motto:
‘Our ROOTS in CHRIST, our MISSION in the WORLD’
the journey of preparation for the General Chapter of the congregation began with the challenge of deepening
DISCIPLESHIP, UNITY AND PROPHECY.
To these three words, Monsignor Jorge added three more in reference to the renewal of Religious Profession and the feast of the Presentation of the Lord: OFFER, LIGHT AND ENCOUNTER.
“We are called to live from a dimension of offering. If we do not do so, we lose our focus. The whole life of Jesus was a living offering to the Father. Our own charism has its dimension of offering that must be lived with enthusiasm, as the junior sisters do.
The initial procession with the lights lit reminds us that Christ is the Light. In this sense, the Provincial Chapter is the space where we listen to the Spirit who enlightens us and helps us to discover God’s deepest desires, even to hear God’s whispers.
For this reason, we are called to open ourselves to this Light and allow ourselves to be illuminated by it. Finally, the Feast of the Encounter, in the figures of Simeon and Jesus, is the encounter between the Old Testament and the New Testament, and it happens because Simeon lives, waits for that encounter from his heart, and is able to move aside to make way for the Saviour. This makes the encounter possible.
With grateful hearts for the “Yes” of the junior sisters and with the challenge of the encounter that allows us to continue walking as a Province towards the Provincial Chapter, we place ourselves in the hands of Christ, in whom we always want to be more deeply rooted, so that from Him we may launch ourselves into the mission He entrusts to us:
‘To be a sign of God’s charity,
to proclaim the coming of the Kingdom,
to bear witness in our weakness to God’s faithfulness.’
