In April 1797, a young woman walks silently along unfamiliar paths, crossing woods, towns, and borders without money, without a passport, without even knowing where she is going. She carries with her only one certainty: the will of God, even if it is still mysterious. That woman is Jeanne Antide Thouret, and her story is told in a touching and profound way in this video by Sister Nicole.

The video invites us to retrace, step by step, the three months of exile, loneliness, and faith that led Jeanne Antide from Wiesent, Germany, to the Abbey of Einsiedeln, Switzerland. It is a physical journey of about 600 kilometers, but above all an inner journey marked by total abandonment to God. Like a new Abraham, like Israel in the desert, Jeanne Antide has no support other than Hope. She no longer seeks a refuge where she can live in peace, but allows herself to be led into the very heart of the contradictions of her time: a France torn apart by revolution, poverty, and loss of faith.

Her arrival in Einsiedeln is the culmination of this journey of faith: a familiar and holy place where she can finally pray, confide in someone, and re-examine her life under the gaze of Mary.

This video is an invitation to each of us today to set out on our journey with confidence, even when the destination is still unclear. Like Jeanne Antide, we can find light and direction in the middle of the night, where the only thing we can hold on to is Hope in God Alone.
