Thonon – Anniversaries of Religious Life

On April 29, at the Balcon du Lac nursing home in Concise-Thonon, the atmosphere was filled with the spirit of a simple, heartfelt celebration.

Sr. Alexis (80th), Sr. Madeleine (75th), Sr. Marie Régina (70th), Sr. Marie-Julien (70th), and Sr. Anne-Jacqueline (60th) celebrated their anniversaries of religious life, and a community gathered around them to give thanks. Not with grand gestures, but with closeness, glances, shared prayer, and the joy of being together.

The Provincial Superior was present at the celebration and, in her message, emphasized gratitude for a life given and lived faithfully in daily life. She recalled how these sisters, over the years, have sown hope, cherished prayer, and lovingly accompanied so many people: sometimes through small gestures, often invisible but precious in the eyes of God and the community, and sometimes through missionary zeal.

During the Eucharistic celebration, we entrusted them to the Lord’s tenderness, that He may continue to illuminate their days with peace and serenity. Their fidelity is a living sign that sustains and encourages us all.

Thus, amid smiles, memories, and a deep sense of family, the day turned into a hymn of thanksgiving: for the journey traveled, for the gift that these sisters have been and continue to be, for the silent beauty of a life offered entirely to God.
