As usual, the day started with the Eucharistic celebration, celebrated by a Vincentian father who hails from Colombia, in the General House.

At 9.30, the Chapter members gathered in the hall to start the works. Sr. François Xavier, by greeting the assembly, to enter in the theme, proposed, to have an ecological journey symbolically, and she took some of the terms which were present in the general report of Sr.Nunzia: the ancient knotty trunk, the seed, the root, the germination, the fruits… everything is a silent, subtle process, but very significant for us, Sisters of Charity.

She announced that the CC has nominated the steering committee which consists of : sr Pascale Haratyk, sr Claudia Grenga, sr Tina Carbone, sr Hend Salloun, sr M. Carla Cortinovis.

Then she passes the word to Alessandro who invited the groups to communicate the assembly about the reflections of the previous day’s group work: deep convictions, the priorities and the questions to be given to the General Council. He started by making gift to the chapter members about some personal reflections on the Gospel of the day: “the personal call of Jesus to follow Him is not a “sterile” call which aggregates us, but which “assimilates” us to Him and makes us disciples of His Word, his gestures by extension. He invites us to be part of his team, assimilated to him and not recruited, without being afraid of our weakness and frailties”.

Each group presented the reflections on the “convictions” and the “priorities”, which were the first contribution of the assembly.  Each one was invited to write their own conviction and priority on two different cardboard cutouts, which represents respectively the root and the leaf of a tree, and laid, symbolically near the “tree of the Congregation”.

Returning back to the chapter hall after the break, each group read the question prepared for the general Council. Sr. Nunzia welcomed those questions and responded to it.

At the end of the morning, Alessandro gave indications about the personal and group work, and about the basic document, scheduled for the afternoon.

For the sharing of the reflection, the Chapter members returned to the hall at 18.
