With the Church of Ethiopia, we give thanks to God for the consecration to God and to the service of the poor of the first two sisters of this very ancient Oriental Church. The celebration was presided over by Bishop Daniele Salera, auxiliary bishop of the diocese of Rome.

“Ring out today in your house a new canticle

for Sister Lemelem and Sister Mana,

who, docile to your call, have offered themselves for your service in the congregation of the Sisters of Charity.

With your help, may they keep their hearts free to take upon themselves the anxieties of their poor brothers and sisters.

In human events let them see the divine providence that guides them.

With the gift of their lives may they hasten the coming of your Kingdom.

(Solemn blessing from the consecration liturgy)
