On Monday 15 April 2024, a meeting was held at the Besançon Baabda school, bringing together sister Mirna, coordinator of the International Bureau of Education (UIPE), and the heads, principals and cycle heads of the five schools in Lebanon. The aim of this collaborative meeting was to lay the foundations for a stronger educational alliance, placing the learning and development of pupils at the heart of our priorities.

Sister Mirna, with her infectious passion and proven expertise, presented the Sisters of Charity International Bureau for Education and its objectives. She highlighted the crucial role of the UIPE as a guide and facilitator in our common educational journey. Her presentation aroused great interest and opened the way to lively discussions about what we expect from the UIPE.

In a spirit of collaboration and sharing of ideas, we then divided into workshops. These smaller groups enabled us to explore in depth our aspirations for the International Bureau of Education and to identify the areas in which its support would be most valuable. The lively discussions revealed a convergence of views, underlining a shared desire to promote quality education, centred on the development of pupils.

The meeting on 15 April 2024 marked the beginning of a new chapter in our educational alliance. Guided by a shared vision and a commitment to collaboration, we are determined to work closely with the BPI to provide our students with a quality education that will prepare them to meet the challenges of tomorrow’s world.
