The Presentation of the Lord marks a new time in Salvation History, so the opening of the Nova Serrana community, two hours from Belo Horizonte, capital of the state of Minas Gerais, marks a new time for the presence in Brazil of the Sisters of Charity of Saint Jeanne Antide Thouret.
With their new reality, in this large local community, characterized by the presence of migrants from all over Brazil and the world, the Sisters are called to be a presence of light, to witness with their lives and fraternity the joy of being consecrated.
The Bishop of Divinópolis, Bishop José Carlos de Souza Campos, introducing the sisters, encouraged them to be close, where people meet and establish relationships, close to the poor to be visited, loved and served with the heart of Joan Antide, to be promoters in the different pastoral animations of the three parishes of Nova Serrana, where they are called to radiate their charism of charity.
We thank God for this chance to begin again that He gives us today, to begin again in the midst of this people so welcoming and so expressive of their faith and friendship.
